Missions at DBC

Mission involvement is a keynote of Deermeadows. Mission opportunities are offered for all age groups. Deermeadows supports local, national, and worldwide missions. We also participate in Habijax, Daniel and Ronald McDonald House.

Missions Education for Children
Children begin learning about missions at a young age through Mission Friends, Girls in Action & Royal Ambassadors.

All the preschool & children's mission groups meet as part of Music and Missions on Wednesday evenings from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m.

*Preschool & children's mission groups do not meet in the summer. Alternative activities for children are offered on Wednesday nights during the summer.

English as a Second Language
Deermeadows reaches out to the international community right here in the Baymeadows area through our English as a Second Language Program. Throughout the school year, we provide free classes in English at five different levels. Volunteers give of their time and love to lead these classes, provide snacks and administer the program.  More volunteers are always welcome.

Classes are offered on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. This year we had over 200 students in the program representing 37 countries. The programs directors are Susan Reed (Wednesdays) and Rich McClain (Thursdays). For more information please contact Susan Reed at English@deermeadows.org.

* CLASSES ARE FREE

EVANGELISM

A central purpose of Deermeadows Baptist Church is to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this purpose through:

Sunday School/Bible Study - Peer groups in Bible Study provide a fellowship of caring and growing.

Worship - Sunday worship provides an opportunity for you to respond through faith in commitment of your life to Christ.

Ministry - Through the various ministries of our church, we nurture relationships that will enable us to share God's love.

Prayer - Realizing our dependence upon God, prayer is central to the life of the church. Each Sunday from 10:10 - 10:25 am, there is a prayer time in the chapel to prepare for worship. Each Wednesday at 6:10, members meet in the chapel to pray for people with special needs.

We also have a prayer line where you can call 24 hours a day to share any special prayer request. This prayer line is checked daily and the prayer requests are shared with church leaders and other members who have committed to pray for these needs. You may access the prayer line by calling the church at 642-2200 and asking for the prayer line during business hours or by following the prompts on the phone system after hours.
