DEERMEADOWS WEEKDAY PRESCHOOL MINISTRY
Our Mission Statement: The mission of DBC Weekday Preschool is to minister to the children and families of our community by presenting a developmentally appropriate Christian education and to lay a foundation for a relationship with Jesus Christ in a loving, safe and nurturing environment. Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
Our philosophy: We believe that: Each child was designed by God for a purpose. Providing a strong biblically based age appropriate curriculum enables each child to develop mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Children feel safe and secure in an atmosphere of Christian love. Through age appropriate experiences children develop an appreciation for work, play, learning, truth, the love of God, others and himself. Children develop self esteem through creative expression.
Information and Policies: Time: Classes begin at 9:00 am and end at 12:45 pm . For the safety of our children and staff our facility is locked during school hours.
Tuition: The school is a non-profit organization and operates on the funds provided by tuition and registration fees. The school has many expenses of a continuing nature. In order to plan and budget these expenses over an entire year, it is essential to assure our annual income from the fees. For this reason it is understood that students are enrolled of the entire school year or such a portion as may remain after the date of entrance. There will be no reduction of tuition for absences or school closings. Tuition is based on the number of participating children in a family and the number of days enrolled. Fees are due the first of the month. Below is a list of our current fees for the 2007-2008 school year.

Nursery Program (Toddlers & Ones)
Age Requirements: Our Nursery Program accepts children who are 6 months old (by September 1 st of that school year) to 2 years of age. We provide classes for our Toddlers, Young Ones, and Older Ones. Our Preschool Program provides classes for children who are Two, Three or Four years old by September 1 st of that school year.
Health Requirements: The Florida Department of Children and Families requires all children enrolled in a child care program to have the required Florida Health certificates by the first day each child attends class, verifying that immunizations are current and the child is physically fit to participate in group activities.
Curriculum: Deermeadows Preschool is proud to teach the WEE Learn Curriculum. This is a Christian based preschool curriculum. Units of study are planned for the year and from these units each teacher develops appropriate learning activities for her class. These activities are designed to foster growth in all areas of development: physical, spiritual, cognitive, social and emotional.
Lunch: Each child should bring a lunch and drink. Please send sandwiches or finger foods that your child will eat. We ask that you please send in healthy nutritious foods.
Staff: Our staff makes our program the quality that it is. They provide a loving, supportive, safe and educational atmosphere. Each person on our staff is required to complete their 40 hour DCF certification course and participate in at least 10 hours of continuing education courses each year.
Parent Involvement: We view our job as a partnership with parents. Therefore, there will be occasions when help from you will be needed. Parents are welcome to attend special classroom parties and functions. You are encouraged to help during the school year with various activities. Some parents may enjoy being a part of our “parent helper” program where you will be called on to help in classes when one of the teachers must be absent. A background check is required.
Registration: Each class has only a certain number of spaces. We intentionally maintain small classes to assure quality care, therefore early registration is necessary. Children presently enrolled in our school, their siblings and DBC church members are given the opportunity to register in late January for our Fall semester. After this, we register the public. A family registration fee is required to insure your child's place in class and is non refundable.
