Our purpose as Senior Adults is to serve Christ and live life to its fullest as a Christian. We strive to minister to each other and those in our city. We find that we can witness and reach the lost for Christ in everything we do. In our activities, missions and fellowships we keep Christ as the reason for our joy and happiness.

Our Senior Adult Ministry is an active and vital part of the Deermeadows family. Many of our Senior Adults are found working and holding leadership roles in the ministry of Deermeadows.

There are several Sunday School classes at 9:00 a.m. designed to provide spiritual growth and friendship to meet the needs of Senior Adults.

Our Senior Adult fellowship group, the "Live Wires", gathers each Tuesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. for Bible Study and Senior Adult Choir. Membership to Deermeadows is not required to become a member of the "Live Wires."

Each third Friday beginning at noon, the "Live Wires" have a great time of fellowship. We have a delicious luncheon along with an informative program, or other special entertainment. And each quarter instead of a Friday noon lunch, all seniors attend our Seniors Night Out, with dinner and entertainment beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Trips include outings in and around Jacksonville and throughout the Southeast. A few of our many trips include Marineland, Tour of Tallahassee, Senior Adult Retreat at Ridgecrest "Chautauqua", Disney World, Cypress Gardens and many more exciting adventures.

Our Senior Adult program provides mission opportunities that give Seniors hands-on experience helping others. We have found that after we have developed a relationship with people while assisting them, we are better able to show God's love to them. We have special projects with local hospitals that provide our seniors with opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of the patients. A monthly newsletter goes out to all our seniors to help everyone stay informed about Senior Adult activities and ministries at Deermeadows.

Our Senior Adult Ministry begins at the age of 55 and activities are limited only to physical abilities. Everything we do is offered to all age groups. Our younger seniors are always willing to aid older seniors who may need special assistance in order to participate in certain activities.

If Christ is your reason for living, then come and fellowship with our seniors and help us reach the world of seniors in our church area.
