DEERMEADOWS HOSTS RICHARD FOSTER FOR A VERY SPECIAL EVENING

FRIDAY, JUNE 13, 2008
Life with God: Reading the Bible for Spiritual Transformaton
3

Deermeadows is excited to host internationally renowned Christian speaker and author Richard Foster for a very special evening on June 13th. The worship service will be held in our Sanctuary and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Richard Foster is the founder of Renovare (a Latin word meaning “to renew”), an initiative working for renewal of the church of Jesus Christ in all her multifaceted expressions. Richard is also author of many books including Streams of Living Water and Celebration of Discipline. Deermeadows has hosted Richard Foster on previous occasions and he has always brought a meaningful message to inspire us on our Christian journey.

Following this service, there will be a book-signing for his newest book, Life with God: Reading the Bible for Spiritual Transformation. In Life with God, Richard J. Foster’s much-anticipated book on the Bible, he teaches that God has superintended the writing of Scripture so that it serves as the most reliable guide for Christian spiritual formation. According to Foster, the Bible is all about human life “with God.” As we read Scripture, we should consider how exactly God is with us in each story and allow ourselves to be spiritually transformed.
