Deermeadows is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic congregation in Jacksonville, and our worship reflects the beautiful diversity of our church family. We value authentic worship and believe it is best expressed through a variety of musical styles—from traditional choral anthems to modern worship songs—led by our choir, orchestra, and vocal team. Though the styles may vary, our focus never changes: Jesus Christ alone. Together, we use our unique gifts and voices to offer Him our very best in worship.

Wednesday Night Rehearsals
Wednesday Night Rehearsal for Frontline Singers (Chapel) and Band Rhythm Section (Stage) is from 6:00-6:30 PM. Full Choir (Choir Suite) and Orchestra (stage) is from
6:30-8:00PM.
Sunday Worship
Frontline Singers Report on stage for sound check no later than 8:20 AM. All Choir and Orchestra members meet on stage by 8:25AM for opening prayer and run through of the Sunday Worship set. Members are released at 9:00AM for those attending Connect Groups/Sunday school.

Annual Events
Our largest annual event; “Carols by Candlelight”, takes place the first Sunday and Monday evening in December. Due to the magnitude of this fan favorite, practice begins in early September and continues weekly on Wednesday evening until the event date. Wednesday night practice will extend until 8:30PM during this time period and several Saturday practices will be added from 9:00AM-noon.
Please join us for our special services for Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.
Our Annual Orchestra Concert takes place in the spring and features over 40 talented musicians, including our Scholarship students through our partnership with UNF.
Hymn Sing is our annual choir concert, which takes place on the last Sunday in June.

Will Lopes
Music & Worship Pastor
Will Lopes serves as the Worship Pastor at Deermeadows and joined our staff in January 2025. Prior to coming to Deermeadows, he served as Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at a college in Iowa. Will is passionate about multicultural and multigenerational worship. His heart for bringing people together through music has helped strengthen the diversity and unity reflected in our worship services and musical events. Will is married to Nelly, and together they have six children, ranging in age from 4 to 17, along with Maggie, their beloved Maltipoo. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve at Deermeadows and considers it a privilege to play a small part in what God is doing in and through our church family.
Marsha Brooks
Music & Worship Ministry Assistant
Marsha Brooks came to Deermeadows Baptist Church in February 2025 and immediately connected with the Worship Ministry, singing alto in the choir. After a short “retirement” in Leadership roles for 41 years in the private sector, Marsha joined the Worship Ministry Staff as the Ministry Assistant in January of 2026. It is such an honor and privilege to be part of a ministry engaging other Christ followers in Worship; witnessing the congregation worshiping Him fills my cup! Marsha is married to Darrell, mom to Whitney and Brandon and “Gigi” to five grandchildren.
Ace Bowers
AVL Tech Director
Ace Bowers joined the Deermeadows staff in September 2025 as AVL Tech Director. Before joining Deermeadows, he worked for eight years in a variety of roles at Apple while also building his own production company. Through his company, Ace manages a recording studio and provides live audio production for corporate events, conventions, concerts, and churches across the country. Ace and his wife, Chelsea, have two children, Ehren and Mika. Ace is passionate about using music and technology to create meaningful experiences. He believes that production should never draw attention to itself, but instead remove distractions so people can fully engage in worship. He considers it a privilege to use his gifts to help create environments where people can encounter God.
Steve Chapman
Worship Pianist
Steve has been in music ministry for over twenty years. He has served as a Music Minister and Worship Leader as well as a Pianist. Steve’s goal is to help the congregation connect with God and to hear God’s message through music.
Andy McCrimmon
Church Organist
Andy has been the church organist at Deermeadows for over 20 years. The organ is a powerful tool to help people prepare their hearts for worship or connect with God during services. Andy is a valuable part of the Deermeadows worship team.
